Testimonials

A lifeline

I hope you realise how much the people enjoy the club, it really is a lifeline. The time spent gives me a lot of enjoyment and I also really look forward to coming. I would like to give a great big thank-you for all that you do, it means alot to me and others. My son is also very happy that I’m getting out and about and meeting new people.

A Safe Space

Dad has been coming to the Coundon Club for about 9 months now. It is a safe space where he is very well looked after. All of the staff are wonderfully caring and very supportive of his wishes. He loves music and is encouraged to join in with all of the activities so that he is living his best life even though he has alzheimers. He always comes home saying he has had a lovely dinner and good fun. The club has been a lifeline for me, providing some much needed respite.

An Essential Service

Coundon Care Seniors’ Club provides for our family an essential service. It is an organisation that fully supports my mum’s needs. Being stuck at home and having access to a local service with reliable and trustworthy transport to the day centre and back really helps mum have a varied week.

Mum attends two sessions per week and it gives her essential contact with fellow human beings which otherwise she would not have. She enjoys the many and varied activities even though she has no short term memory and can’t remember all the detail.

As her son I appreciate being able to see on Facebook the happy smiling faces of people enjoying whatever activity is in session, be it stroking a llama or a guide dog or playing Rise life rugby. Mum, as piano and organ teacher in her former years, enjoys the musical sessions too. I know mum has access to a cooked meal and is entertained every Monday and Wednesday.

The service I feel is good value and professionally run.

Peace of Mind

My wife attends three days a week. The three days are very important to me, knowing that she is in good hands and being looked after. This allows me to go shopping and do other things.

A Very Important Service

While my father in law is at the centre, it allows me to go out with friends, look after my dad and do some work. It also gives me a mental and emotional break which helps me to care for him at home.

He benefits as it provides the stimulation he needs and would not get at home. Gives him important social interaction, with physical activities to keep his body moving. He is happier and we have better conversations with him since he has attended the centre.

All this really helps with his alzheimers. I really don’t think I could cope if he was home all the time, it is a very important service.

Fantastic

The club is fantastic, mum loves going 3 times a week. She has become a different person. Thee staff are tremendous, the interaction they have with everybody is amazing, I know when I drop mum off that she is safe and looked after, the smile she has on her face is beautiful to see, as she has had a great day.

The 5 hour break allows me to do things that I need to do. The club is a God send to the families, knowing that stuff that they do for everybody helps keep them alert and able to enjoy themselves. Dementia sucks, but Kay and the rest of the team make it easier for the families and the person who they look after

A Safe Place

Mum goes to the seniors’ group twice a week. She has dementia, but really looks forward to going each time. I care for mum on my own, so find it difficult at times. The group provides a safe place to go, with varied activities every time. I can highly recommend Coundon Seniors’ to anyone thinking of using their service.

Great Enjoyment

My wife really enjoys going to the Coundon Care. It gives her joy and helps her to socialise which she enjoys greatly. Keeps her active, even her mind as she really enjoys the crafts. It gives me great peace of mind knowing she’s safe and looked after, whilst I’m able to do errands out and about.

Kind & Caring

I feel privileged that my husband is able to attend Coundon Care Seniors’ Club. He always comes out feeling positive about what he has done- even though he isn’t able to tell me what has happened that day. The staff are brilliant – kind and caring with an awareness of all that’s going on with their clients (plus supporting those of us bringing our loved ones to the centre).

The activities are varied and cover lots of interests and the frequent posts on social media gives us an insight into the day’s activities. Thank-you all so much.

100% Recommend

I just want to say how fantastic the club has been for my lovely mum. Three yrs ago mum came to live with me and my husband I was going off to work and worrying about mum she didn’t interact with people her age and just sat at home and I could tell after losing my dad she was falling on the road to depression.

So I decided to ask around about local clubs in the area and on my eastern green on Facebook Coundon care was mentioned numerous times. So we decided to give it a try.

And wow we haven’t looked back mums like a new woman. The service you provide is outstanding. The staff are all so friendly.

From the moment she gets picked up in the minibus I can go to work knowing she’s enjoying herself and is in very safe hands .

Mixing and interacting with people her own age mum has definitely picked up since coming to your club so I personally would like to shout out and say a big thank you to you and all the staff at Coundon care. And I would 100 % recommend this club.
